90 Ways to Beat the Boredom this Summer

One of the main thoughts I have during the summer is, “Wow, I’m so bored.” Being stuck in the house most of the summer will do that to you.

I’ve been combating this constant boredom
with a huge list of things I came up with to do around the house. So the next time you’re bored, check out this list! Some are super cliche, but others may take you out of your comfort zone!

  • Watch cable TV and find one of those weird shows that you feel ashamed for watching but you can’t stop
  • Make your own Play-Dough
  • Make your own pinch pots
  • Read my Odyssey articles
  • Create a mural out of shattered bottles
  • Look at diagrams about how big the Universe really is and have your mind explode
  • Watch Vine compilations on YouTube
  • Go outside and tan
  • Play the piano
  • Practice a sport
  • Study for next semester
  • Climb a tree
  • Watch dumb videos on Vine, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Watch all of the Discover stories on Snapchat
  • FaceTime your friends that you miss
  • Write about things you don’t want to talk about
  • Call your family
  • Make DIY things for your dorm
  • See if somebody can take you out to do something
  • Cook something (that’s actually a meal)
  • Or bake something
  • Play with your pets
  • Ride your bike, scooter, or whatever
  • Walk to the nearest store
  • Walk around the neighborhood with your dogs
  • Take a nap
  • Read a really good book that will have you captivated for hours
  • Read a magazine
  • Clean your room
  • Vacuum
  • Go through all of your junk and make donate, sell, and keep piles
  • Catch up on politics or celebrity gossip

  • Watch Netflix and finally finish that one series you constantly neglect

  • Complain about that one girl to your best friend

  • Go around your yard and take pictures of pretty things
